Description

This barn, located approximately 50 meters west of Blankstones Farmhouse, was built in 1805, as indicated by the date on the tie beam. It is constructed from coursed limestone rubble and features a gabled Welsh slate roof. The barn has a four-bay plan and includes ventilation slits to the left of the plank double doors that lead to the threshing floor. There are similar plank doors at the rear. Attached to the rear is an outhouse made of limestone rubble, which has a gabled stone slate roof and a brick stack. Inside, the threshing floor is paved with stone flags, and the barn has a four-bay through-purlin roof with principal rafters cut above the collars. This barn is included in the listing for its group value.
