Description

15A and 15B Church Green is a house that has been divided into two dwellings. It dates from the early to mid-18th century, with some alterations made in the mid-19th century. The building is constructed of coursed limestone rubble, with the left side wall rendered in concrete. It features a gabled stone slate roof and has end stacks, with the left stack made of stone and the right stack made of 20th-century brick. The layout is L-shaped, with a rear left wing.

The house has two storeys and presents a symmetrical three-window facade. The entrance features a mid-19th-century four-panelled door with an overlight and a bracketed flat hood. Above the door, there are stone tympanum arches and timber lintels over mid-19th-century tripartite plate-glass sash windows set in stone architraves. The first-floor sash windows are also set in stone architraves and there is a moulded stone cornice.

At the rear, there is an outshut with a three-light leaded casement that adjoins the 18th-century wing, which is built of similar materials. This wing has two storeys and an attic, with a two-window range, a 20th-century door, and casements. Inside, there are two 18th-century panelled straight-cut doors and an early 19th-century quarter-turn staircase with stick balusters. The rear wing features stop-chamfered beams and a fireplace with an 18th-century chamfered stone architrave.
