Description
The Witney Hotel is a house that has been converted into a hotel, dating from the mid-18th century. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble and features a gabled stone slate roof with stone end stacks. The building has a central-staircase plan and stands two storeys tall with an attic, presenting a symmetrical three-window facade. The ground floor includes a mid-18th century six-panelled door, two of which are glazed, flanked by 8-pane sash windows, all topped with flat stone arches that have multiple keyblocks. The first floor has six-pane sash windows with timber lintels above. There are also two hipped roof dormers, which contain 20th century two-light casements. The interior has not been inspected but is likely to be of interest.
