Description
15A Abbey Street is a house built in the late 19th century or early 20th century. It features red sandstone ashlar on a moulded plinth, with the upper floor made of Flemish bond brickwork and left V-jointed quoins. The roof is covered with Welsh slate and has a coped gable, along with an original ridge brick chimney stack. The building has two storeys and three bays. There is a panelled door on the right with an overlight set in plain chamfered stone reveals. A similar doorway on the left leads to a through passageway, featuring a plank door. The ground floor has sash windows in plain stone reveals, while the upper floor has sash windows in brick reveals. Late 19th-century photographs indicate that the lower sandstone wall was likely just a yard wall for the adjoining property at No. 17. By the early 20th century, the walls had been raised to create a house. The interior was not inspected, and the property was unoccupied at the time of the survey.
