Description

SP2604-2704 ALVESCOT LOWER END (North-east side) 9/3 Stable 30m N of Stone Cottage

GV II Stable. Dated JK 1755 on stone plaque in gable end. Dressed limestone with stone slate roof. One storey and loft. East side, to yard, has doorway to stable, and external stone steps to loft door. Both doorways have old wooden frames and lintels; loft door breaks through eaves into small gable. Gabled south end, to lane, has date plaque, and windows to each floor, the upper window of 2 lights with one shutter. Wooden lintels. Barn attached to north, with C20 monopitch roof, is not of special architectural interest.
