Description
SP2604-2704 ALVESCOT STATION ROAD (North-east side) 9/24 Manor Cottage
GV II House. Late C17 with C20 bay to right. Coursed rubble limestone with rough quoins. Stone slate roof with rebuilt rubble stone chimney to original right gable. 2 storeys and attic, 2 original bays. Wooden casements, renewed C20, with various glazing bars and wooden lintels, mostly of 2 lights but with 3-light to ground floor right. Gabled roof dormers refurbished C20. Central C20 board door with concrete lintel. C20 bay in matching style to right has 2-light casements with concrete lintels. To ground floor rear are 2 C17 windows, possibly re-sited, one single light, the other 2-light with chamfered stone mullion and Tudor hoodmould. Interior has single chamfered spine bean to original part, slightly altered fireplace, axial winder stair in shaped well with sunken hand rail, and original double purlin roof.
