Description

Heythrop Cottage is likely two small houses that have been combined into one dwelling, dating from the mid-18th century. The building is constructed from coursed limestone rubble with wooden lintels and features a Stonesfield-slate roof with a brick gable stack. It has a three-unit outshut plan and stands two storeys tall, plus an attic. The front facade has a regular arrangement of three windows, which have been renewed with leaded, two-light casements. To the left of the middle window is a ribbed door, and there is a blocked opening to the right that was probably another doorway, creating a symmetrical appearance. The right gable wall includes the stack and a small outshut, with an additional outshut at the rear. The interior has not been inspected. The building is included for its group value.
