Description
The Manor House and West Manor are two dwellings resulting from the late 18th and early 19th century remodelling and extension of an earlier house, with further extensions added in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The building is constructed of coursed squared limestone with some ashlar dressings and marlstone-ashlar quoins, and has a Welsh-slate roof with ashlar stacks. It has a three-unit plan with added rear wings.
The front of the building, with three bays, has 12-pane sashes at ground and first floors, and shorter sashes at the second floor. Bay three features tripartite ground- and first-floor windows. A gabled two-storey porch, located between bays two and three, has a 12-pane sash above a six-panel door. A blocked secondary entrance is located to the right of bay one. All windows have flat arches. A two-window rear range returns to the left, featuring four-pane 19th and 20th century sashes. An earlier wing returns from the right end, also with 12-pane sashes. The gable walls of the main range display evidence of a former large chimney projection and a steeper roofline. The main roof has three stacks, and each wing has its own gable stack, all with plinths and moulded caps. The interior was not inspected.
