Description
The Crown Inn is a public house located on Enstone Mill Lane, dating from the late 17th century, with alterations and extensions made in the 20th century. The building is constructed of limestone rubble and features wooden lintels, topped with a concrete plain-tile roof that has stone-and-brick gable stacks. It is designed in an L shape and consists of two storeys plus an attic.
The taller section of the main range has a two-window layout and features renewed three-light casements on both floors, along with large 20th-century dormers. To the left, the lower three-window range has altered windows and an entrance that is accessed through a 20th-century stone porch. At the rear, there is a short wing that extends from the right side of the taller range, which includes further renewed casements and a stone-based gable stack, and is connected to a single-storey service range. Inside, the property showcases stop-chamfered joists and beams.
