Description
East View is a house that underwent early to mid-19th century remodelling of an 18th-century structure. It is built from coursed and squared rubble with a Cotswold stone roof. The house has two storeys and an attic, featuring one gabled dormer and ashlar end chimneys. A simple string cornice runs along the parapet. There are two windows on the upper floor, which are sashes with single vertical glazing bars set in raised flat architraves, complete with keys. The ground floor has angled bay windows. The central entrance boasts a six-panel door also in a raised flat architrave, adorned with stone scroll brackets and a pedimented ornament under an open pediment. In front of the house, there are mid-19th century cast iron rails and dog-rails with floral tops.
