Description

Donnington House is a 17th-century cottage, originally built as a pair of cottages, and altered subsequently. It is constructed of coursed rubble with a roof of Cotswold stone. A rubble chimney is located on the right side. The building is single-storey with an attic. It has two windows: a three-light window with stone mullions (having rebated hollow chamfers) to the left, contained within a lean-to half dormer. Below the dormer is an angled stone bay with a hipped roof and a 1:2:1-light layout. The windows retain their original sills and, on the ground floor, jambs of the original mullioned windows. The ground floor window is a Yorkshire sash replacement. The first-floor window is a 20th-century glazed half-dormer with a raking-top roof.
