Description
Pytt's Piece is a house located on the east side of Burford and Upton High Street, dating from the 17th century but modified by a restoration in the 20th century. The right-hand wing may have been added in the mid-19th century or even in the 20th century. The building is constructed of coursed, roughly squared rubble and features Cotswold stone roofs. It has three gables on the front, with two storeys and an attic. The windows are mullion style, with drips on the windows in the two left-hand gables; the right side has plain chamfered mullions. The ground floor includes 4-light windows with king-mullions, as well as 2- and 3-light windows. There is a central 20th-century Tudor arch doorway with a drip and urn-stops. Additionally, there is an L-plan extension to the southeast that features a two-storey angled bay on the return gable and two hipped dormers.
