Description
34-35 Brookside is a house that was formerly subdivided. It has parts dating from the 17th century, with alterations and extensions made in the 18th century and a remodel in the 20th century. The building is constructed of coursed squared marlstone and has a Stonesfield-slate roof with 20th-century brick stacks. It has a T-plan layout and stands two storeys plus an attic. The front has two windows, now fitted with 20th-century windows and lintels, and there is a further window in a blocked central doorway. The rear wing features some segmental-arched windows and, on the left, a 17th-century stair projection with canted sides and a small chamfered window opening. The interior has not been inspected but is said to retain a winder stair. The building was formerly a public house.
