Description
Park Farmhouse and the attached stable range is a farmhouse that dates back to 1712, with an extension added around 1820. It is constructed from coursed squared marlstone and ashlar, topped with a Stonesfield-slate roof and limestone-ashlar stacks. The building features two parallel ranges and stands two storeys high with an attic.
The symmetrical front of the early 19th-century ashlar range has three windows and a central four-panel door with a rectangular overlight, all set within a hollow-chamfered basket-arch surround. The windows are fitted with pairs of small-pane sashes and central stone mullions, and all openings are adorned with labels. The gables have parapets, and there is one stack on the left side. To the left, there is a small single-storey range that also features a gable parapet.
At the rear, the range includes leaded casements with labels, likely added in the early 19th century, and an arched doorway with a label and lozenge stops. The roof has additional ashlar stacks with heavy cornices and includes one hipped roof dormer. A datestone on the right gable is inscribed with "1712/FK". The rear range extends to the left with a long 18th-century outhouse and stable range, which has segmental-arched openings on both sides, along with an inserted stone-mullioned window in the left gable. Additionally, there is a separate single-storey kitchen and wash house at the rear, designed in a similar style, connected to the house by a stone-slated covered way. The interior has not been inspected.
