Description

Friends Cottage is a pair of houses, now combined into a single dwelling, dating to the late 17th or early 18th century. It is constructed of roughly-coursed limestone rubble, with a gabled roof covered in artificial stone slates. The chimney stacks are made of stone, finished with brick on the left, and of brick on the right. The building has an L-shaped plan, featuring a projecting wing on the right. The front facade has a two-window arrangement on the left side and a single window on the projecting wing to the right. Timber lintels are above the 20th-century front door and windows. The interior includes chamfered beams and a chamfered bressumer above an open fireplace on the right side.
