Almshouses, 1821. Built for William Townsend. Limestone ashlar; gabled Welsh slate roof; moulded ashlar ridge and end stacks. 6-unit plan, Tudor style. 2 storeys; 8-window range. Label moulds over paired C20 plank doors set in chamfered stone architraves. Label moulds over stone-mullioned segmental-headed windows with sunk spandrels. 0utshuts to rear. Interior not inspected. Endowed by William Townsend, Haberdasher of London and native of Witney, for the use of aged unmarried women. (Buildings of England: Oxfordshire, p.850).
