Description

The house at 7 Wood Green, Witney, dates to the late 17th or early 18th century, with later alterations. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble with a gabled concrete tile roof and brick stacks. The building follows a central-staircase plan and extends over two storeys and an attic, featuring a 4-window front. A 4-panelled door is set within a mid-19th or late-19th century moulded wood architrave, detailed with console brackets supporting a flat hood. Late 19th century two- and three-light casements are set beneath timber lintels. Gabled roof dormers are present. A long 18th-century range extends to the rear. Inside, an early 19th-century staircase features stick balusters, a panelled dado, and spandrels. A room to the right contains plasterwork in an early 17th-century style, believed to have been created around 1920.
