Description

This listing describes a group of outbuildings, a barn, a cottage, and an attached wall located approximately 5 meters east of Manor Farmhouse in Old Woodstock. The structures date from the 17th century and were remodeled in the late 18th to early 19th centuries. They are built from coursed limestone rubble and feature gabled stone slate roofs, forming a U-plan that encloses a yard.

The cottage at the front, dating from the late 18th to early 19th century, is a one-storey building with an attic and has a three-window range. It features timber lintels above a 20th-century door and windows, along with half-dormers and a brick end stack. A 20th-century rear extension connects to the rear left limestone rubble wall, which is attached to a late 18th-century one-storey outbuilding that includes a through-passage. There is also a late 18th-century granary situated over a loosebox at the rear left, characterized by a half-hipped roof and a plank loft door.

To the rear right of the cottage is a barn that dates from the 17th century but has undergone late 18th-century rebuilding at the front bays. This barn features a gabled porch to the right. Additionally, there is a late 17th-century stable at the rear right, which has flat stone arches over its door and flanking windows. Inside, the buildings have butt-purlin roofs, and the barn contains a six-bay collar-truss roof with a ridge beam over the 17th-century bays located behind the threshing floor. This group of buildings is included for its group value.
