Description
Millway is a house located on Netherton Road in Appleton, dating from the early to mid-18th century, with 20th-century extensions. The building features coursed limestone construction and a gabled thatched roof, with a brick stack at the gable end. It is designed on a two-unit plan and has two storeys with a two-window range. The central entrance includes a 20th-century door and porch, while timber lintels are present over the 20th-century windows and 19th-century first-floor casements. The interior was remodeled in the 20th century, and the extent of earlier features is unknown as it was not inspected in 2010. Millway is listed at Grade II due to its architectural interest as an example of early to mid-18th-century vernacular architecture, retaining its thatched roof and limestone walls.
