Description

This is a house located at 13 Eaton Road, built in the early 18th century, around 1720 to 1730. It features Flemish bond brickwork with flared headers and has a gabled roof covered with old tiles, along with a brick stack at one end. The house has a two-unit outshut plan and is two storeys tall with an attic, presenting a two-window range on the front.

A pediment hood with carved brackets sits above a central 20th-century glazed door. There are elliptical arches with keystones over 19th-century three-light casement windows, and a similar segmental arch above a small blind window located above the door. The building has a raised storey band and a moulded wood cornice. Two gable roof dormers are present, each containing 19th-century two-light casements. The outshut at the rear was enlarged in the 19th century. This house displays an unusual Georgian vernacular style. The interior has not been inspected but is likely to be of interest.
