Description
Well Cottage is a house dated 1777, as inscribed on a beam, with a mid-20th century extension of two bays to the right of the door. The exterior is roughcast with an old tile roof and a brick stack. The house has a two-unit plan and stands two storeys high, featuring a five-window range. The door, inserted in the 20th century, is located to the right of a blocked entry that was originally between the first and second windows from the left. The windows are primarily 18th-century two-light leaded casements, except for a one-light window to the left and 20th-century two-light casements to the right of the door and in the half-dormer above. The roof is gabled, with the ridge previously housing the right end stack of the 18th-century house. Inside, there is a full set of chamfered joists and a beam dated 1777 in the left room.
