Description
The Blue Boar Public House is a late 17th-century house constructed from coursed limestone rubble with a thatched roof and brick stocks. The building has one storey and an attic, featuring a two-window range. A mid-20th-century door with a porch is located to the right, while there is a central blocked door and early 20th-century three-light casements, which are also present in the half-dormers. The roof is gabled with stacks at the gable ends, and there is a contemporary rear outshut.
Inside, there is a chamfered bressumer above an open fireplace and a chamfered beam to the right. The first floor has not been inspected but is likely to be of interest. Additionally, there is a mid-18th-century two-storey, two-window range to the right of the front, built from coursed limestone rubble and topped with a gabled 20th-century tile roof. This section features chamfered timber lintels over similar casements, except for a blocked window to the right.
