Description

The Old Bakehouse is a house dating to the late 17th century, with a later 18th-century extension to the left. The front is roughcast over brick, with an old plain-tile roof. The right end has a stack built of red brick on a grey brick base. The main part of the house is two storeys high and has two windows. A glazed door is located to the left of the centre, alongside a shop window. A horizontal sash window is on the right, with a segmental head. A flat-roofed verandah runs along the ground floor. There are two horizontal sash windows to the first floor, and a dentil course runs along the eaves. Inside the left-hand ground floor, a chamfered spine beam has ogee end stops. The later 18th-century extension to the left is also roughcast, probably over brick, with an old plain-tile roof and a brick end stack. This extension is two storeys high and has a single window. An angled bay with a flat roof and sash windows projects from the ground floor, and there is a nine-pane sash window to the first floor, also with a dentil course to the eaves.
