Description

Brentford House is a house dating from the mid-17th century, with a late 18th-century addition on the left and a 19th-century addition on the right. The right side features painted brick, while the left is roughcast, likely over brick. The roof is covered with old plain tiles, and there is a brick stack. The house has a single storey and attic on the right and two storeys on the left, presenting a three-window range that is set at right angles to the street.

The entrance, located to the left of centre, has a six-panel door with a flat hood above it. To the left of the door is a 16-pane unhorned sash window, and to the right of centre is a three-light wood casement window. There is a lean-to addition with a slate roof on the right. A gabled dormer is positioned to the right of centre, and there is another 16-pane unhorned sash window on the first floor to the left of centre. A blind recessed panel is found to the left. On the left return, there are 16-pane unhorned sash windows on both the ground and first floors.

Inside, there is a chamfered spine beam on the ground floor and a door, likely from the 18th century, with original hinges leading to the kitchen on the right. The staircase is a winder type, and the right side features a queen-post roof with windbraces. There is a single-storey 19th-century cross-wing on the right, which has undergone alterations in the 20th century.
