Description
No. 8 Wallingford Road is a house dating from the early 18th century, with a 19th-century addition to the rear left. The exterior is roughcast, likely over brick, and features an old plain-tile half-hipped roof with a central ridge stack. The house has a two-unit lobby-entry plan and is one and a half storeys high, presenting a two-window range that is set at right angles to the street. The central entrance has a plank door with a flat hood above it, flanked by two-light wooden casements on either side. There are also two hipped dormers on the roof.
On the left side of the building, there is a two-storey, two-window range. The central entrance here features a sash door with a porch that has a lean-to plain-tile roof. To the left of this entrance are glazed double doors, and to the right, there is a three-light wooden casement. The first floor has wooden casements on both the left and right sides. Inside, the house is noted for having an open fireplace in the ground floor left room.
