Description
The Old School, located approximately 30 meters west of Brianne, is a former school building from the early 19th century. It is constructed of Flemish bond red brick and features a Welsh slate roof with a brick lateral stack at the rear. The building has a one-unit plan and is a single storey with a two-window range. There are cambered arches over the shuttered windows on the front and right side. A gabled porch with a plank door is situated in the left side wall. The interior has not been inspected. The building was noted on the 1840 Tithe Map as a charity school and was listed in Gardner's Directory of 1850 as a National School. It is included for its group value.
