Description

The School House is a school building, later converted into a house, dating from 1797, with a 19th-century addition. It is constructed of brick in a Flemish bond pattern and has a Welsh slate roof. Originally, the school had a side entrance and a single room running the depth of the building, and was two bays wide. It is now two storeys high and two bays wide, with a two-storey, single-bay outshot to the right. A two-panel door is located on the right side. Throughout the building, there are flush four-pane sash windows with flat brick arches. A datestone inscribed “School House 1797” is visible on the original section. The original range has a hipped roof with a ridge stack. The building is included on the list for its group value.
