Description

Rose Cottage and Green Patch are a pair of dwellings, built in the early to mid-18th century. The construction is of flint rubble with brick quoins and dressings. The left side has an old tile roof, while the right side features 20th-century tiles. A brick ridge stack is present. The building follows a three-unit plan and has one storey with an attic, presenting a three-window front. A segmental arch tops a 20th-century door, which is sheltered by a gabled porch. A 20th-century doorway is on the right side. Segmental arches constructed of alternately red and flared brick voussoirs are above late 19th-century two-light casement windows to the left; two late 19th-century gabled dormers are also present. A rear wing, dating from the 18th century, is of flint rubble with brick dressings and a gabled 20th-century tile roof. Inside, the ground floor features chamfered beams. The roof space was not inspected.
