Description

Hope Cottage is a house dating from the early 18th century. It is constructed of limestone rubble with timber lintels and features a thatched roof with a brick ridge stack. The building has a two-unit plan that has been extended to three units and consists of one storey plus attics. The front elevation has three windows and a door located to the left of centre, flanked by three-light casements, with two three-light dormers above. An added bay to the right includes a three-light casement and a horizontal sliding sash in the third dormer. The stack is positioned to the right of the earlier section, and the roof is half-hipped. There is a 20th-century tiled rear wing. The interior has not been inspected.
