Description

Milestone located approximately 60 metres east of The Avenue, likely dating from the early 18th century. It is made of limestone and features a tapering circular shape with a rounded top. The side of the milestone is inscribed with "XLVIII / miles from / London / To Oxford / VI". The road where it stands was turnpiked by the Stokenchurch and Enslow Trust in 1719.
