Description

The Village Stores and Post Office, along with the adjoining house, is a shop and dwelling built in the early 18th century and altered in the 19th century. It features limestone rubble and ashlar construction, with some timber lintels, and has concrete plain-tile and Welsh-slate roofs topped with a brick gable stack. The building is a single range with two storeys.

The house, located to the left, has a three-window ashlar front with a plinth that has a chamfered offset. The entrance, situated to the right of center, includes a low plank door and a 20th-century canopy. The right bay has tall casement windows on both the ground and first floors, while there is a blocked window above the door, all featuring stone flat arches. The left bay contains 12-pane sash windows, which are 19th-century insertions replacing pairs of earlier windows.

To the right is a four-window rubble shop range, which predates the house but received a slate-roofed upper storey in the 19th century. The shop front has a central door, with a two-light casement window to the right and a 20th-century shop window to the left, along with two-light casements on the first floor. The interior has not been inspected.
