Description
Bassetts House is a house dating from the mid to late 18th century. It is constructed of limestone rubble with squared quoins and features a stone-tile roof with brick gable stacks. The building has a two-unit plan and stands two storeys tall. The symmetrical front has three windows and a central door, with renewed 16-pane sash windows set under stone arches that have projecting keyblocks—segmental arches at the ground floor and flat arches at the first floor. The lower keyblocks have added masks. To the right, there is a 20th-century tiled extension, which consists of one and two storeys and was created from a single-storey service range. The rear of the main range includes a projecting stair tower that has been enlarged. Inside, there is an 18th-century fireplace with a wooden architrave and a moulded cornice.
