Description
The Vicarage, now a house, was built in the mid-18th century. It is a double-depth plan building with two storeys and an attic. The exterior is roughcast, with a gabled roof tiled in the 20th century, and brick stacks at the ridge and left end. The front has a symmetrical facade with seven windows. The main entrance is a six-panelled door, with four glazed panes, and supported by brackets. The windows are late 18th century six-pane sashes. A one-storey, L-shaped service range extends to the right, constructed of limestone rubble with a roughcast front and end stack.
The interior includes late 18th century shutters. The main hall features a jewel-stopped chamfered beam, a timber-frame wall on the left, and a two-bay screen to the rear dog-leg staircase, which has turned balusters on a closed string. One room on the ground floor has two similar beams, a moulded plaster cornice, and mid-18th century panelling. A first-floor inspection was not possible at the time of listing but is likely to be of interest.
