Description

Granny's Cottage is a house dating from the 17th century, with an extension added in the early 18th century. It features small timber framing with colourwashed brick infill on a limestone rubble base to the left, and colourwashed limestone rubble with brick quoins and dressings to the right. The roof is gabled and half-hipped, covered with thatch, and has brick stacks at the end and on the right ridge. The original plan form of the cottage is unclear. It has one storey and an attic, with a two-window range. To the left, there is a late 19th century three-light casement window, and a timber lintel above a 20th century casement window to the right. The cottage also includes late 19th century two-light half-dormer casements and a 20th century door in the right gable wall.
