Description
Brooklyn is a farmhouse that has been converted into a house. It dates from the 17th century and was refaced and remodeled in the mid-19th century. The front is made of mid-19th century colorwashed brick over limestone rubble, while the rear features small timber framing with herringbone brick infill. The building has a gabled old tile roof, a 17th-century brick ridge stack, and later end stacks made of colorwashed stone rubble finished in brick. It has a two-unit lobby-entry plan and is two storeys high with a three-window range. There are timber lintels above a mid-19th century four-panelled door and horned sash windows. Inside, the rear wall is timber-framed, and there are chamfered and stopped beams. The 19th-century stairs are next to a stone stack that has a late 19th-century moulded surround to an open fireplace.
