Description

Tudor Cottage comprises two cottages dating from the early 17th century, with a left-hand bay extension added in the 18th century. The construction is primarily timber framing with brick infill, alongside colourwashed limestone rubble in the left bay. The roof is thatched, with a hip to the left, and features brick ridge stacks. The building has a 4-extended-to-5-unit plan and one storey with an attic, presenting a 5-window range. There are three 20th-century doors, with a central, thatched porch. The windows are largely late 19th-century casements; half-dormers exhibit three late 19th-century two-light casements on the right (No. 112) and two horizontal sliding sashes on the left. The interior of the left cottage (No. 114) includes an open fireplace in the left room, a quarter-turn staircase, a queen-post truss and a timber-framed wall with a closed truss to the right. No. 112 was not inspected, but it is likely to be of interest.
