Description
Shirburn Lodge, East Cottage is a former stables and coach house that has been converted into a house. It dates from the early 18th century and is constructed of knapped flint coursed rubble with brick quoins and dressings. The building features a hipped roof covered with 20th-century tiles and has brick stacks at either end. It has a double-depth plan and stands two storeys tall with a four-window range. There are segmental brick arches above an eight-panelled door on the left, a 20th-century door on the right, and tall blocked doorways. The first-floor windows are also blocked, with flat brick arches and timber lintels above them. The left side wall contains coach house doors. At the rear, there is a brick range with a half-hipped old tile roof and a large fireplace inside. The building is included for its group value.
