Description
The Fox and Hounds Inn is a public house that originated as a house in the mid-18th century, with a later extension added to the left. The building features a construction of flint rubble with brick quoins and dressings, and English bond brick on the left side. It has a half-hipped and gabled old tile roof, with brick ridges and 20th-century stacks at the right end. The structure has been extended from a two-unit to a three-unit plan and consists of one storey and an attic, showcasing a three-window range.
The front includes a canted bay with horned sash windows, a 20th-century gabled porch, and an elliptical arch above a 20th-century two-light casement window. The left bay features brick arches over two 20th-century two-light casements and a 20th-century plank door. There are also three gabled half-dormers with late 19th-century or 20th-century two-light casements. Inside, the building has chamfered beams, and while the first floor has not been inspected, it is likely to be of interest.
