Description
The Squirrel is a farmhouse consisting of two ranges, with the right range dating from the early to mid-18th century and the left range dated 1838. The building is constructed of Flemish bond brick featuring flared headers, except for the right bay, which is made of repointed English bond brick. It has a gabled old tile roof with symmetrical brick end stacks on the left side, while the right side has a half-hipped 20th-century tile roof. The left range has a double-depth plan and is two storeys high with two windows. It features a 20th-century door set in a moulded wood architrave, with timber lintels above late 19th-century two-light casements. The right range is one storey and has an attic, with two windows and segmental arches above an 18th-century plank door, as well as late 19th-century two- and three-light casements and gabled dormers. Inside, there are chamfered beams, and while the first floor has not been inspected, it is likely to be of interest.
