Description
Northfield Cottage is a 17th-century house located on the south side of Long Wittenham High Street. The building features a limestone rubble base with large timber framing, brick infill in the center, and rendered infill on the left and right sides. It has a thatched roof that is hipped to the right, with an area of old plain tiles in the center. A brick ridge stack is situated on the right, and there is a brick lateral stack with a stone base at the front center. The cottage is a single storey with an attic and has a three-window range. There is a plank door leading to a lean-to porch on the right return. The windows exhibit irregular fenestration with 2-light casements, and there are raking dormers to the left and left of center, along with a swept dormer on the right. The interior has not been inspected.
