Description

The war memorial, located on the north side of Long Wittenham High Street, was built around 1920 and designed by Guy Dawber for his own village. It is made of ashlar Portland stone and has a rectangular shape. The memorial stands on a base of three steps and features a tapering block with recessed mouldings at the top corners, culminating in a shallow pyramidal top. An inscription is present on the front. The memorial is included for its group value.
