Description
The Middleton Park Icehouse, located approximately 300 meters to the northwest, dates from the 18th century. It is constructed of coursed squared limestone with ashlar dressings and features a brick interior. The rectangular entrance front has a semi-circular archway beneath a projecting string and likely originally included a simple triangular pediment. The entrance is situated at the end of a long mound. Inside, the entrance leads to two lobbies that are barrel-vaulted in brick, each with round-arched stone doorways. The inner chamber is topped with a brick dome.
