Description

FENCOTT AND MURCOTT FENCOTT SP51NE 3/21 House approx. 40m. to N of Northend Farmhouse GV II Farmhouse, now house. Probably C17. Coursed limestone rubble with wooden lintels; brick-cased timber framing; thatch roof with brick gable stack. 2-unit through-passage plan, formerly larger. One storey plus attic. Left part of 2-window range is stone and contains the central doorway, a 2-light casement with 2-light dormer above and, to extreme left, a blocked doorway; timber-framed bay is entirely concealed to front and rear by derelict C20 extensions, but retains a 2-light dormer to front. Right gable wall is partly weatherboarded and was formerly an internal wall. Rear of stone bay has further casements. Roof is half-hipped to right and has a stack to left. Interior: stone bay contains a massive end stack, a stop-chamfered beam, and a roof truss with a cambered collar.
