House Approximately 40 Metres To North Of Northend Farmhouse

This building is a farmhouse, now a house, located approximately 40 meters north of Northend Farmhouse. It likely dates from the 17th century and is constructed of coursed limestone rubble with wooden lintels, featuring brick-cased timber framing and a thatched roof with a brick gable stack. The structure has a two-unit through-passage plan and is one storey plus an attic.

The left part of the building has a two-window range made of stone, which includes a central doorway, a two-light casement window, and a two-light dormer above. There is also a blocked doorway on the extreme left. The timber-framed bay is completely hidden at the front and rear by derelict 20th-century extensions, but it still has a two-light dormer at the front. The right gable wall is partly weatherboarded and was previously an internal wall. The rear of the stone bay features additional casement windows. The roof is half-hipped on the right side and has a stack on the left.

Inside, the stone bay includes a massive end stack, a stop-chamfered beam, and a roof truss with a cambered collar.
