Description

Home Farmhouse is a house that dates back to the 17th century, with additions from the 18th century and alterations made in the 20th century. The building is timber-framed and faced in brick from the 18th century, topped with a thatched roof that features both a gable stack and a ridge stack. It has a cement rendered plinth and is a single storey with an attic.

The east front of the house has four bays. To the right, there is a small 20th-century rectangular window, followed by a 2-light casement window. To the left, there is a similar window, followed by a blocked doorway, and another similar window beyond, all featuring cambered arches. Above these, there are two eyebrow dormers, each containing a 2-light casement window, which interrupt a timber wall plate that runs along the eaves.

The north gable end wall has bargeboarded eaves and an off-centre doorway with a cambered arch, a sloped hood supported by brackets, and a plank door. To the left of this doorway, there is a casement window with a cambered arch. Above, a 2-light casement window with a cambered arch interrupts the remains of a timber roof truss.

The adjoining rear range is constructed of brick and has a slate roof, with a coped gable featuring kneelers, a ridge stack, and a gable stack. The north front of the farmhouse has two storeys and three bays. It features an off-centre doorway with a cambered arch and a plank door. To the left of the doorway, there is a small casement window, followed by a larger 2-light casement window, both with cambered arches. Above, to the right, there is a small casement window, and to the left, a 2-light casement window that has the remains of a timber wall plate beneath its cill.
