Description
This building is a cottage located to the southeast of the church, dating from the 16th or 17th century, with later alterations. It is constructed from timber framing with wattle and brick panel infill, along with some brick panel repairs. The original thatched roof has been covered with corrugated sheeting. The cottage is a single cell, though it may have once been part of a larger structure. It is 1½ storeys high and was originally made up of three bays of timber framing, with three panels high, featuring continuous posts at the angles and interrupted intermediate posts. This timber framing arrangement is still visible on the rear elevation, but on the north side, the lower rail is missing, and the right-hand bay has been replaced with brickwork. There is a doorway to the right, although the original door may have been located on the east gable against the stack. A window in the west wall is a three-light window in the attic. An attached length of garden wall is located at the rear, made of mud on a cobble plinth with pantile coving.
