Description
Laughton House is a house built in the early 19th century, with some alterations made in the late 19th century. It is constructed of brick and features a hipped roof made of Swithland slate, along with lateral stacks. The eaves have a moulded brick cornice.
The north front of the house is 2½ storeys high and has three bays. The central doorway has a flat hood supported by brackets and contains a six-panel door with a fanlight above. On either side of the doorway are single tripartite sash windows. Above the doorway, there is a small central glazing bar sash flanked by small tripartite sashes. All the windows have gauged brick flat arches.
The south elevation mirrors the north front in terms of window arrangement. It also features a central doorway with a flat hood supported on brackets, but this door is part-glazed and has an oblong overlight above it. On either side of this doorway are late 19th-century semicircular bays with flat roofs, each containing three glazing bar sashes, all of which have cambered arches.
