Description
The barn at Hethe Brede Farm, dating from the 18th century, features coursed limestone rubble construction and a steeply pitched roof. The roof is made of stone slate on the south side and red tiles on the north. There is a brick stack at one end. The barn is a long rectangular structure with ten bays. The entrance to the threshing floor is located in the third bay from the left and has plank doors with a wooden lintel. To the right, the entrance to the cottage also has a plank door and wooden lintel. The cottage includes two-light hooded casements and a loft door. A gabled roof dormer features a two-light casement window with lead cames and crown glass. The barn has ventilation slits and tie-bars. The interior is reported to contain original beams, although it was not inspected.
