Description

Rose Cottage is a house dating from the late 17th century with later alterations. It is constructed of squared, coursed ironstone and features a steeply pitched thatched roof with brick end stacks. The building is positioned end on to the road and has a three-unit plan with a rear outshot. It stands two storeys high plus an attic and has a three-window range. The entrance, located off-centre to the left, has a panelled-glazed door with a wood lintel and a 20th-century trellis porch. Flanking the entrance are two 20th-century casement windows with wood lintels, and there is an additional 20th-century window to the right. On the first floor, there are 20th-century casements in the original openings, also with wood lintels. The gable end facing the road features a small two-light attic window with a metal casement, wood frame, and wood lintel. The interior has not been inspected.
