Description
Epwell Mill House is a mill and millhouse that has been converted into a house, dating from the early 18th century with later alterations. The building consists of three sections, with the house on the left. It is constructed of squared, coursed ironstone and features a steeply pitched tile roof with blue brick end stacks. The layout is a two-unit plan with two storeys plus an attic and a two-window range.
The central entrance has a panelled door set in a moulded wood frame with a stone lintel. Flanking the entrance are two-light wood mullioned and transomed windows, each with keyblock stone heads. On the first floor, there are two similar windows and one blocked window, along with two gabled attic dormers.
The middle section is a single storey plus attic and features a renewed four-light wood mullioned and transomed window and a gabled dormer. The right section is also built of squared, coursed ironstone and has a pantile roof, with rendered and stone ridge and end stacks. This part has a seven-window range and two entrances; one has a 20th-century door while the other is blocked. The ground floor includes renewed two- and three-light mullioned and transomed windows with stone lintels, and the first floor has similar windows along with a Venetian window with a balcony on the right. The interior has not been inspected.
