Description
Nos. 5 and 6 Bainton Road are two small houses dating from the late 17th century to early 18th century. They are constructed of coursed limestone rubble with wooden lintels and feature thatch and plain-tile roofs with brick end stacks. The buildings are arranged in an L shape and follow a two-unit plan, standing two storeys tall.
No. 6, which is taller, has two 2-light casement windows on the first floor and three similar casements along with the entrance on the ground floor. No. 5 features two renewed leaded casements on each floor and has a central entrance that is sheltered by a 20th-century porch. At the rear of No. 6, there is a short wing that is tiled and includes 9-pane sash windows. The interiors have not been inspected. These houses are included for their group value.
